Skin Needling FAQ

  • Skin Needling is a Medical Grade device that gently and swiftly rolls over the epidermis which causes the tiny micro channels from the device into the skin that helps target skin concerns, stimulate skin renewal, rejuvenation and cellular regeneration.

OHMYBROW specialises in providing a dynamic duo in our Skin Needling treatments, using Centella Medical Grade Certified Organic products to truly provide long, lasting results for all skin types.

This treatment assists in re-building the skin’s structure whilst boosting collagen and elastin. Skin needling does not use heat and is therefore suitable for most skin types.

  • For the best post-care treatment results, we strongly advise you to follow the guidance and recommendation provided by your clinician. To achieve better results, it is important to avoid direct sun exposure, avoid makeup for at least the first 24 hours following treatment, and avoid hot showers or baths.

In terms of a skincare routine, we suggest that you avoid touching or picking at the skin, use a gentle cleanser and use a light, oil-free moisturiser.

It is recommended to avoid extensive exercise and alcohol consumption after a Skin Needling treatment.

  • Skin needling is considered safe. However, like any procedure, there are risks involved.

-Allergic reactions may occur to creams and serums applied to the skin after skin needling.

-Wounds can also become infected if the skin is not kept clean. Stay away from germ-rich areas such as swimming pools, lakes, rivers, and oceans. Also, do not use irritating soaps or lotions.

Infections can also occur if the equipment you use is not thoroughly cleaned. However at OHMYBROW we strive at reducing risks through high infection control standards.

These side effects can be significantly decreased when choosing a qualified, highly-trained nurse which we provide at OHMYBROW.

  • Results following a Skin Needling treatment at OHMYBROW will last anywhere from three to six months.

However, for longer, lasting benefits, most of our clients will schedule follow-up maintenance sessions to improve their results for 2-3 sessions of treatment per year.

By taking good care of your skin through a consistent at-home skincare regime, you can significantly help preserve your results.

  • A Skin Needling treatment isn’t painful, however it may be uncomfortable depending on the client’s reaction, and their overall pain tolerance.

Skin Needling uses tiny needlepoints to create punctures within the dermis, helping to encourage increased collagen and elastin production. This results in younger, and smoother-looking skin.

  • Skin Needling is a great treatment solution for individuals who struggle with acne scars. Through the tiny needles penetrating the top layer of the skin, collagen production is increased where the micro-wounds were created.

The excess and increased supply in collagen production act as a ‘filler’ for your skin. This helps smooth skin that has formally been affected by acne scars.

  • Skin Needling can target improving and reducing the look of stretch marks by penetrating the underlying layers of the skin where stretch marks develop.

These micro-wounds encourage the body to naturally promote healing to these affected areas, producing an increased supply of collagen within the treatment area.

  • Skin Needling is considered a safe treatment for both mum and bubs, whether you are currently pregnant or breastfeeding. It is considered safe if the technician is using shallow needles (less than 0.5mm).

However, through the process of implementing micro-wounds into the top layer of the skin, there is an increased risk of infection. As a result, Skin Needling stimulates increased collagen and elastin. These nutrients and other vitamins would be taken away from the development of the baby during an important stage.

  • -Pain and redness

After the treatment, you may feel some pain and your skin may be red for a few days.

    -Peeling

The skin feels tight and may peel a little as it heals.

    -Bruising and bleeding

Skin needles usually do not bleed. However, deep skin needling treatments can cause bleeding and bruising on the skin.

    -Possible scarring

Skin needling is not recommended for people with keloids, scars that look like large blisters on the skin, as they may aggravate the condition. infection. Skin needles can puncture the skin through which bacteria can enter, especially if the device is not cleaned properly. However, the risk of infection is very low. If you are healthy, skin needle infections are unlikely.
